Chandigarh, Apr 13 (MNN) Haryana Governor Satyadeo Narain Arya has extended greetings to the people on the 130th birth anniversary of Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar on April 14.
The Governor said that it was a big challenge to establish a system of governance suited to the country after Independence and Dr Ambedkar accepted this challenge and toiled for two years, 11 months and 18 days to formulate the Indian Constitution.
Arya said that Dr Ambedkar provided for reservation for the poor and downtrodden in Lok Sabha and state Assemblies as well as government jobs so as to remove social and economic inequalities.
He said that the Dalit leader urged the poor to be educated, stay organised, and struggle for their rights.
“Dr Ambedkar’s vision, philosophy and theory will continue to inspire us all and only by adopting his philosophy of life can we pay him a true tribute.”
Chief Minister Manohar Lal also extended his best wishes to the state’s people on Dr Ambedkar’s birth anniversary.
The Chief Minister said that Baba Saheb played a pivotal role in framing the Constitution and dedicated his life for the countrymen, especially for the uplift of the unprivileged.
