Epidemic red alert fortnight in Rajasthan from May 3 to 17

Jaipur, May 1 (MNN) With positivity rate of around 21 per cent currently in Rajasthan, the Home Department has declared ‘Epidemic Red Alert — Public Discipline Fortnight’ in the state from May 3 to 17 in view of a surge in coronavirus cases.

This follows instructions from Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.
The red alert will remain in force from 5 am on May 3 to 5 am on May 17, during which all workplaces, commercial establishments and markets will remain closed.

The public discipline curfew will be in force on weekdays from noon till 5 am the next day. Weekend curfew will be imposed from noon on May 7 to 5 am on May 10 and from May 14 noon to 5 am on May 17 in the entire state.

Any person other than those in permitted category found wandering without reason during the curfew will be put in institutional quarantine until his RT-PCR report is negative.

All food items, groceries, flour mill, cattle feed, wholesale and retail shops will be open from 6 am to 11 am from Monday to Friday.

Shops and premises of agricultural input vendors will be allowed to open from 6 am to 11 am on Monday and Thursday. Optical-related shops will be open from 6 am to 11 am on Tuesday and Friday.

Shops in mandis, fruits and vegetables and floral garlands will be open daily from 6 am to 11 am.

Sale of vegetables and fruits through handcarts, bicycles, rickshaws, auto-rickshaws and mobile vans will be allowed from 6 am to 5 pm daily.

Dairy and milk shops will be opened daily from 6 am to 11 am and from 5 pm to 7 pm.

Ration shops will be open without any holidays. Also, shops related to pharmaceuticals, medicines and medical devices will be allowed to open.

Processed food, sweets, bakery and restaurants, etc cannot be opened to clients. Only home delivery facility will be allowed till 8 pm.

Only 31 persons will be allowed to attend marriage ceremony instead of 50 earlier. The marriage ceremony can be held for a maximum of 3 hours as a single event.

For the wedding ceremonies, the date, time and place will be given to the Sub-Divisional Magistrate concerned through email, along with a list of guests. No guest other than those on this list will be allowed.

Those not maintaining social distance at weddings will be fined Rs 5,000. Rs one lakh will be imposed if any function has more than 31 attendees.

All sports grounds and public parks will now be open from 5 am to 11 am only.

All industries and construction-related units will be allowed to function, which will have to issue identity cards to their workers to facilitate their movement.

Shops related to construction materials will not be allowed to open. Material can be supplied by phone or electronic medium upon receipt of order.

People have been advised not to use two- and four-wheelers for shopping in markets as far as possible and to go on foot, bicycles or public transport (cycle rickshaws and auto-rickshaws).

Postponement of weddings have also been advised to prevent infections.
