Modi releases money to over 9.5 cr farmers under PM-Kisan scheme

New Delhi, May 14 (MNN) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday released the 8th installment under PM-KISAN scheme to over 9.5 crore farmers across the country.

Over Rs 20,000 crore have been transferred directly into the accounts of beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, which is touted as the largest direct cash transfer scheme in the world.

The Prime Minister interacted with the beneficiaries from across the country.

The scheme was launch in 2019, under which Rs 6,000 each is transferred every year into the account of farmers in three equal installments.

The government says that over 11.28 crore farmers have benefited so far and more than Rs 1.16 lakh crore transferred into their accounts.
