Over 3.26 lakh new corona cases, 3,890 more deaths in India

New Delhi, May 15 (MNN) India on Saturday reported 3,26,098 new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours along with 3,890 more fatalities, the Ministry of Health data showed.

There are now 36,73,802 active cases in the country, a net decrease of 31,091 cases. The active cases are 15.07 per cent of the total positive cases reported in India.

The corona death toll now is 2,66,207, which is 1.09 per cent of the total tally.

A total of 2,04,32,898 persons are in discharged, cured or migrated category, as 3,53,299 more patients were added to the tally. They account for 83.83 per cent of the total cases.

In all, 18,04,57,579 vaccination doses have been given, including 11,03,625 in the last 24 hours, till 8 am on Saturday.

As of May 15, Karnataka has 5,98,625 active cases as 5,527 new patients were added to the tally. The total discharge cases went up to 15,10,557 as 35,879 more patients recovered. The death toll in the southern state is 21,085 as 373 more succumbed to the disease.

In Maharashtra, active cases are 5,21,683, a net decrease of 14,021 to the earlier tally, while the discharge cases went up to 47,07,980 with the recovery of 53,249 more patients. The western state’s corona death toll is 79,552 as 695 more fatalities were recorded.

Kerala added 3,282 new cases to take the active cases to 4,42,550. A total of 31,319 more patients recovered to taken its tally in this category to 16,36,790. A total of 93 more fatalities in the last 24 hours took the southern state’s death toll to 6,243.

Tamil Nadu has 1,95,339 active cases as 11,567 new patients were added, while the discharge cases went up to 13,18,982 as 20,037 recoveries were recorded. The death of 288 more patients took the toll to 17,056.

Andhra Pradesh has 2,03,787 active cases as 2,745 more were added in the last 24 hours. The discharge cases went up to 11,75,843 as 19,177 more recoveries were recorded. The death toll went up to 9,173 as 96 more fatalities due to the virus were recorded.
