New Delhi, May 20 (MNN) India on Thursday recorded 2,76,110 new coronavirus cases and 3,874 more fatalities in the last 24 hours, the Health Ministry data showed.
The active cases have gone down by 96,841 to 31,29,878, which is 12.14 per cent of the positive cases reported in the country so far.
The corona death toll has gone up to 2,87,122, which is 1.11 per cent of the total 2,57,72,440 cases.
The discharged patients went up by 3,69,077 in the last 24 hours to 2,23,55,440, which is 86.74 per cent of the total cases.
As per the data collated till 8 am on May 20, 18,70,09,792 vaccine doses have been administered so far, including 11,66,090 in the last 24 hours.
On Wednesday, India had reported a record high 4,529 more corona deaths and 2,67,334 new cases.
India recorded less than 3 lakh new cases for the fourth consecutive day.
The government said India’s daily recoveries continued to outnumber the new cases for the seventh consecutive day.
Ten states accounted for 75.11 per cent of the latest recoveries.
Ten states reported 77.17 per cent of the new cases — Tamil Nadu’s highest 34,875 cases, followed by Karnataka with 34,281.
Eight states cumulatively accounted for 69.23 per cent of India’s total active cases.
The daily positivity rate stands at 13.44 per cent.
Ten states accounted for 72.25 per cent of the new deaths, with Maharashtra recording the maximum of 594, followed by Karnataka with 468 daily deaths.
A total of 18,70,09,792 vaccine doses have been administered through 27,31,435 sessions, as per the provisional report till 7 am on Thursday.
Ten states accounted for 66.61 per cent of the total doses given so far.
