Chandigarh/Moga, June 1 (MNN) Close on the heels of the arrest of two Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF) members, Punjab Police said on Tuesday that another operative Kamaljeet Sharma alias Kamal has been arrested.
Kamal of Dala village in Moga district was arrested by Moga Police from near Nathuwala Jadid village in the district and four .315-bore pistols with 10 cartridges seized from him, Director General of Police Dinkar Gupta said.
Kamal was allegedly one of the main shooters involved in murder of a Dera Sacha Sauda follower, firing on a priest, Sukha Lamme murder case, and Supershine murder case.
On May 22, two accomplices of Kamal, including Lovepreet Singh alias Ravi and Ram Singh alias Sonu were held from Moga.
The DGP said the trio was acting on the directions of KTF’s Canada-based chief Hardeep Singh Nijjar, who was notified a ‘designated terrorist’ under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act by the Indian government.
The DGP said that three KTF co-conspirators and masterminds Arshdip, Ramandip and Charanjit alias Rinku Bihla are hiding in Surrey in British Columbia in Canada and that Punjab Police was making efforts to get them deported to India.
A jeep bearing fake registration number CH-01AF-601, and three motorcycles used in various crimes were also seized from Kamal.
Moga SSP Harmanbir Singh Gill said that preliminary investigations revealed that Kamal had received heavy funding via hawala and Western Union from his Canada- based associates for committing these crimes.
So far, five .32-bore pistols, seven .315-bore pistols, one .12-bore countrymade pistol have been seized from this module.
