Lucknow, June 6 (MNN) The lockdown imposed in Uttar Pradesh amid the coronavirus pandemic has been relaxed in 71 of the 75 districts.
No relaxation has been given in Lucknow, Meerut, Saharanpur and Gorakhpur disricts since more than 600 cases have been reported there.
More than 5 crore people have been tested for corona in Uttar Pradesh and over 2.23 crore persons vaccinated.
The decision on lifting of corona curfew in these four state could be taken on Sunday when Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath holds a meeting with officials.
Traders in these four districts had appealed to the state government to relax the curfew since the active cases were likely to come down in the coming days.
As per the Health Ministry data, Uttar Pradesh still has 19,438 active cases, a net decrease of 3,439 in the last 24 hours. The discharged patients increased by 4,346 to 16,56,763 while the death toll has gone up to 21,151 due to 120 more fatalities in the last 24 hours.
