India beat Bangladesh 2-0 in football World Cup qualifiers in Doha

Doha, June 7 (MNN) India footballers thrashed Bangladesh 2-0 to end their 11-match winless run in Doha on Monday, earning their first victory in the World Cup qualifiers since November 2015.

Sunil Chhetri’s two goals helped India get three vital points as they kept their AFC Asian Cup hopes alive.

Stimac’s men now have six points from seven matches in Group E, one point ahead of fourth-placed Afghanistan, while Bangladesh remain winless at the bottom of the six-team table with two points.

India will next face Afghanistan on June 15, and will set sights on another win.
