New Delhi, June 12 (MNN) India on Saturday recorded 84,332 new cases and 4,002 more deaths in the last 24 hours, the Health Ministry data showed.
The active cases went down by 40,981 to 10,80,690, which account for 3.68 per cent of the total 2,93,59,155 positive cases reported in India till date.
The discharged patients increased by 1,21,311 to 2,79,11,384, which are 95.07 per cent of the total cases.
The corona death toll in the country is 3,67,081, which is 1.25 per cent of the total cases.
As many as 24,96,00,304 vaccine doses have been administered in the country, including 34,33,763 in the last 24 hours.
The Indian government said the 84,332 new cases were the lowest after 70 days.
India’s active caseload had declined to less than 11 lakh after 63 days whereas the daily recoveries continued to outnumber the daily new cases for 30th consecutive day.
The caseload was below 20 lakh for 12 successive days.
The daily positivity rate was less than 10 for the 19th day.
The country has recorded less than one lakh daily new cases for five continuous days.
In all, 36,979 more recoveries were reported during the last 24 hours compared to daily new cases.
A total of 19,20,477 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours, taking the cumulatively tally to 37,62,32,162.
A total of 24,96,00,304 vaccine doses have been administered through 34,64,228 sessions, as per the provisional report till 7 am on Saturday.
These include 1,00,35,262 healthcare workers given the first dose, 69,47,565 the second dose; 1,66,36,247 frontline workers given the first dose, and 88,12,574 the second dose.
In the 18-44 age group, the first dose has been given to
3,81,21,531 beneficiaries and 5,61,503 the second dose.
In the 45 to 60 age group, first dose has been given to
7,47,06,979 persons and 1,18,31,770 the second dose.
In the over 60 years persons, the first dose has been administered to 6,21,90,130 persons and 1,97,56,743 the second dose.
