Gros Islet (St Lucia), June 17 (MNN) After a convincing victory in the first Test, South Africa will look to clinch a series victory against the West Indies when they meet for the second Test encounter at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium here from June 18-22.
The hosts had few positives to fall back on after a crunching defeat in the opening Test, with their batting order failing spectacularly against the pace of the South African bowlers, the ICC reports.
They will have to up their game in the upcoming encounter, in order to mount a comeback in the series.
A silver lining was the performance of debutant Jayden Seales, who impressed one and all with his three-wicket haul. Jason Holder also bowled well, picking up four wickets.
For the visitors, Lungi Ngidi and Anrich Nortje blew away the Windies in the first innings, picking up five and four wickets respectively. Quinton de Kock then showcased his devastating abilities with the bat, with a glorious 141*.
Kagiso Rabada came to life in the second innings, claiming a five-wicket haul to seal a comfortable victory for the Proteas.
Skipper Dean Elgar will be hoping for more of the same from his unit, as he targets a series victory in his first assignment as the Test skipper.
