Surat, June 27 (MNN) Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said on Sunday that the Aam Aadmi Party will project a chief ministerial candidate ahead of the Gujarat Assembly elections next year.
Addressing a press conference here, he said that the BJP had failed to ensure the development of the western state even though it had been in power for many years.
He again took a dig at the BJP, dubbing it Bharatiya Jhagada Party, which was in the habit of picking up fights with rivals.
“In Surat Municipal Corporation, the BJP has been following its whims and fancies on the city’s education budget of Rs 600 crore, and wishes to continue with its fraud on the matter,” Sisodia alleged.
As for the inflated oxygen demand projected by Delhi, he pointed out that the members of the SC-nominated panel had not given any such report. “This report was made while sitting in the BJP headquarters by its leaders,” the Delhi Deputy CM claimed.
Meanwhile, Gujarat industrialist and social worker Mahesh Sawani joined the Aam Aadmi Party on Sunday.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Sisodia welcomed him into the AAP fold. “The Gujarat politics is now taking a new turn,” Sisodia said.
Assembly elections in Gujarat are likely to be held in December 2022. Also, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal, Uttarakhand, Goa, and Manipur will also hold Assembly elections earlier in the year,
