London, June 30 (MNN) Continuing his quest for a sixth Wimbledon title here, defending champion Novak Djokovic defeated world number 90 Kevin Anderson in straight sets to enter the third round on Wednesday.

In a rematch of the 2018 men’s final, the number 1 seed took his unbeaten record of victories at the All England Club against the South African to four with a 6-3, 6-3, 6-3, win.

Despite a superior ace tally from the 6ft 8in Anderson, the South African had no answer to Djokovic’s trademark athleticism and inch-perfect play that the fans on Centre Court have come to love.

The Serbian now faces either Italy’s Andreas Seppi or qualifier Denis Kudla of the USA in the third round.
