New Delhi, July 5 (MNN) India on Monday reported 39,796 new coronavirus cases and 723 more deaths in the last 24 hours, the Health Ministry said.
The active cases in the country declined by 3,279 to 4,82,071, which are 1.58 per cent of the total 3,05,85,229 cases.
The discharged patients increased by 42,352 to 2,97,00,430, which are 97.11 per cent of the total tally.
The country has witnessed 4,02,728 corona deaths so far, which are 1.32 per cent of the total.
A total of 35,28,92,046 vaccine doses have been administered so far, including 14,81,583 doses in the last 24 hours.
The Indian government said that more than 36.97 crore (36,97,70,980) vaccine doses have been provided to the states and UTs so far through free and direct procurement routes.
Of these, 34,95,74,408 doses had been used, including wastage, as per data available at 8 am on Monday.
More than 2.01 crore (2,01,96,572) doses are still available with the states and UTs and private hospitals.
The government said that daily recoveries continued to outnumber the daily new cases for the 53rd consecutive day.
The Weekly Positivity Rate remains below 5, currently at 2.40. The daily positivity rate at 2.61 was less than 5 for 28 consecutive days.
The testing capacity has been substantially ramped up across the country, with 41.97 crore tests conducted so far.
At present, 4.5 per cent of the Indian population (63 million) is fully vaccinated whereas 20.4 (285 million) has received at least one dose.
