Shimla/New Delhi, July 18 (MNN) Himachal Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the national capital on Saturday and urged him to sanction bulk drug and medical devices park to the hill state.
Thakur said that the park would not only promote industrial activities in the hill state but also go a long way in generating employment opportunities for the Himachal residents.
He also demanded funds for the construction of the proposed airport at Nagchala in Mandi district. He also discussed issue regarding strengthening the road connectivity in the hill state.
The Chief Minister urged Modi to approve the document for financial assistance sent to the Central government under the tourism infrastructure development project.
He invited Modi to inaugurate 111 MW Sawara-Kuddu hydroelectric project and 210 MW Luhri stage-I project constructed by the Sutlej Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited and to lay the foundation stone of 66 MW Dholasidh project.
Thakur also held discussions with the PM on strengthening information technology and connectivity in the state.
The Prime Minister assured to provide every possible assistance for the state’s development.
Principal Resident Commissioner Sushil Kumar Singla and Deputy Resident Commissioner Pankaj Sharma were also present on this occasion.
