DD, AIR to broadcast Olympic updates, matches to Indian audience

New Delhi, July 21 (MNN) Doordarshan and All India Radio and dedicated channel DD Sports will bring to the Indian viewers important updates on the Tokyo Olympics Games which are set to kick off on July 23.

The coverage spans from pre- to post-Olympics and will be available on TV, radio and digital platforms of the Prasar Bharati across the country.

Different sporting events will be broadcast live daily on DD Sports from 5 am to 7 pm. Details of the same will be made available everyday on DD Sports and AIR Sports Twitter Handles (@ddsportschannel & @akashvanisports).

DD Sports will also host daily shows on Olympics -India @ Tokyo at 8.30 pm; Olympics Highlights at 9 pm; and Olympics Stat Zone at 9.30 pm daily during the Games.

DD News will host special programme from Mondays to Fridays at 7 pm and on Saturday at 5 pm. Special segments in Breakfast News, Mid-Day Prime and News Night will also be broadcast.

DD India will broadcast special programme everyday at 8.30 pm while special segments in Breakfast News, Mid-Day Prime and News Night will be slotted.

All India Radio will broadcast a Curtain Raiser on July 22 from 2230 hrs (IST) onwards, apart from on all AIR capital stations, FM Rainbow network, DRM, and other interested AIR stations. The programme will also be carried over Youtube Channel (www.youtube.com/user/doordarshansports), DTH and on NewsonAir mobile App within territory of India.

The Daily Highlights will be broadcast from July 23 to August 8 from 2230 hrs (IST) onward daily through above-mentioned channels.

Periodic FM Updates would be broadcast from July 24 to August 7 from 0700 to 1900 hrs daily, apart from breaking news may also be broadcast on FM Channels whenever India wins a medal, on
FM Rainbow network.

Off-tube commentary of select hockey matches would be taken up through all AIR capital stations, FM Rainbow network, DRM, and other interested AIR stations. The programme will also be carried over Youtube Channel (www.youtube.com/user/doordarshansports), DTH and on NewsonAir mobile app within territory of India as per Annexure I which can be seen through the link.

Off-tube commentary of select badminton matches are also scheduled through above-mentioned channels as per Annexure II.

Regional version of Curtain Raiser and Daily Highlights programmes may be broadcast by non- Hindi AIR stations at their convenient time on the next day preferably during morning transmission.

Prasar Bharati News Services, the digital arm of Prasar Bharati, will amplify the coverage by Doordarshan and All India Radio through its network of social media platforms, news website, NewsOnAir app and PBNS Telegram channel.
