Mumbai, July 28 (MNN) The BCCI added five net bowlers — Ishan Porel, Sandeep Warrier, Arshdeep Singh, R Sai Kishore and Simarjeet Singh – to the Indian squad for the second and third T20Is in Sri Lanka.

While the second T20I is on in Colombo, the third and final T20I would be played on Thursday. India won the first T20I to gain a 1-0 lead in the series.

The additions come in the wake of a request by the Indian team management in Sri Lanka as Krunal Pandya tested positive for COVID-19 on July 27.

All members of the team and support staff were immediately isolated and tested as a safety measure. The test results for everyone, including the eight identified close contacts of Krunal, returned negative.

Following the test on Tuesday, a Rapid Antigen Test was conducted at noon on Wednesday also and they all returned negative results.

However, to ensure health and safety of the squad, the eight close contacts will continue to remain in isolation in the team hotel, the Board of Control for Cricket in India said.
