‘The Crown’ wins multiple awards at 73rd Emmys Awards

Los Angeles, Sep 20 (MNN) ‘The Crown’ won multiple awards, including Outstanding Drama Series, at the 73rd Emmys Awards that were held at the Event Deck at LA Live, an indoor-outdoor venue.

A scaled-down ceremony was held in a tent at an outdoor venue with a limited live audience on Sunday (local time) due to ongoing Covid-19 concerns – a year after the show was forced to go virtual.

The series also won prizes for best drama’, best actors (drama) and best actors in supporting roles.

The awards were given in 27 Emmy categories, plus the Governors Award, presented by top talent from some of television’s most acclaimed programmes.
GRAMMY-winning artiste Leon Bridges and Academy Award-winning artiste Jon Batiste performed a special “In Memoriam” song.

Emmys were awarded in 92 other categories at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards during three ceremonies on September 11 and 12, followed by an edited broadcast of the Creative Arts ceremonies on September 18 on FXX.

The Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles has been the go-to venue for the annual television awards since 2008. However, the venue has been changed for the first time in years. Unlike last year, the Emmys were handed out in-person. Cedric the Entertainer was the host for television’s big night.
