Kejriwal promises free pilgrimage to people of different faiths in Uttarakhand

Haridwar, Nov 21 (MNN) As the Uttarakhand Assembly elections are round the bend, Aam Aadmi Party on Sunday tried to woo the voters by promising “game-changing schemes”, including free pilgrimages to various places in case the party formed the next government in the hill state.

AAP leader and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal – who led a party roadshow in the city — said that when the AAP formed the new government, it will implement various game-changing schemes, including Mukhyamantri Tirath Yatra Yojana.

People will be offered free travel and board and lodgings for pilgrimages to Ayodhya and Ajmer Sharif in Uttar Pradesh as well as Kartarpur Sahib in neighbouring Pakistan via Punjab.

He said that the first such pilgrimage will start from Delhi to Ayodhya on December 3 and a similar facility will be extended to the people of Uttarakhand.

He said that AAP is the first political party that works to resolve the common man’s problems. “If you vote for us, we will make up for your past, change your present, and revolutionise your future,” he added.

Kejriwal also promised good schools and hospitals, 24- hour free electricity up to 300 units, improved roads, employment avenues to the people of Uttarakhand.

The AAP Convener guaranteed a monthly allowance of Rs 5,000 to one youth from each family in the hill state till they get employment.
