Official US trailer of Belgian indie film ‘Playground’ out

Mumbai, Dec 31 (GAPZAP) Film Movement has unveiled an official US trailer for acclaimed Belgian indie film titled ‘Playground’, also known as ‘Un Monde’ (A World) in French.

The film premiered at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival and has been shortlisted for the Academy Award for Best International Film.

The film stars Maya Vanderbeque, Günter Duret, Karim Leklou and Laura Verlinden.

The drama revolves around a seven-year-old Nora and her big brother Abel who are back to school. When Nora witnesses Abel being bullied by other kids, she rushes to protect him, but Abel forces her to remain silent. Caught in a conflict of loyalty, Nora will ultimately try to find her place, torn between children’s and adults’ worlds.

The film is written and directed by Belgian filmmaker Laura Wandel, making her feature directorial debut after a few short films and other TV work previously.

The film is produced by Stéphane Lhoest. It is slated for early 2022 release.
