Delhi records 15,097 new coronavirus cases, six more deaths

New Delhi, Jan 6 (MNN) Delhi on Thursday reported 15,097 new coronavirus cases and six more deaths in the last 24-hour cycle, the Health Department said.

A total of 98,434 more tests were conducted during the period, with Delhi’s current Positivity Rate going up to 15.34.

There are 31,498 active cases now in the national capital, which has reported 25,127 Covid deaths so far with a Case Fatality Rate of 1.69.

The recovered, discharged or migrated patients went up by 6,900 to 14,32,838.

Cumulative Positive Cases total 14,89,463 in Delhi, with a Cumulative Positivity Rate of 4.49.

Of the 12,580 hospital beds in Delhi, 1091* are occupied (including suspect cases) and 11,489 vacant while 459 of the 4,290 beds in Dedicated COVID Care Centres are occupied and 3,831 vacant. In Dedicated COVID Health Centres, only one of the 158 beds are occupied.

Home Isolation patients total 14,937 at this point in time,

A total of 1,091 patients are admitted in hospitals, including 87 suspect cases. Of the total, 135 patients are from outside while 869 are from Delhi.

Mild or asymptomatic patients (without oxygen support) total 769, moderate patients (on oxygen support) 211, and severe patients (on ventilator support) 24.

The RT-PCR/CBNAAT/TrueNat tests conducted in the last 24 hours total 80,051, with Rapid Antigen Tests totalling 18,383.

A total of 3,31,86,347 tests have been done in the city so far, which comes to 17,46,649 tests per million.

Beneficiaries vaccinated in the last 24 hours total 1,41,498, including 89,945 given the first dose and the 51,553 the second dose.

Beneficiaries in 15-17 age group vaccinated in the last 24 hours total 36,559.
So far, 2,69,97,543 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in Delhi, including 1,55,57,545 given the first dose and 1,14,39,998 the second dose.

Containment zones as on date total 5,168 in Delhi. The department said that all figures are tentative, subject to change on receipt of additional information.
