17,335 new coronavirus cases in Delhi, nine more deaths

New Delhi, Jan 7 (MNN) Delhi on Friday reported 17,335 new coronavirus cases and nine more deaths due to the virus in the last 24-hour cycle, the Health Department said.

Active cases total 39,873 in the national capital, which has reported 25,136
coronavirus deaths so far, with a Case Fatality Rate of 1.67.

A total of 97,762 more tests were done in the period, with a Positivity Rate of 17.73. Recovered or discharged or migrated patients increased by 8,951 to 1441789.

A total of 15,06,798 positive cases have been reported in the national capital till date, with a Cumulative Positivity Rate of 4.53.

In Delhi hospitals, 1,390 of the total 13,312 beds were occupied and 11,922 vacant. In Dedicated COVID Care Centres, 529 of the total 4,482 beds were occupied and 3,953 vacant. In Dedicated COVID Health Centres, only one of the 158 beds is occupied.

A total of 20,695 persons in home isolation.

Patients admitted in hospitals total 1,390, including 77 suspect cases. Of the 1,313 positive patients admitted in hospitals, 154 are from outside Delhi and 1,159 from the national capital.

Mild patients (without oxygen support) total 996, moderate patients (on oxygen support) 286, and severe patients (on ventilator support) 31.

The RT-PCR/CBNAAT/TrueNat tests conducted in the last 24 hours total 78,154, with rapid antigen test totalling 19,608.

So far 3,32,84,109 tests have been done in Delhi, which comes to 17,51,795 tests per million.

Beneficiaries vaccinated in the last 24 hours total 2,00,280, including 1,28,843 given the first dose and 71,797 the second dose.

Beneficiaries in the 15-17 age group vaccinated in the last 24 hours total 56,204.
So far 2,71,97,823 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in Delhi, including 1,56,86,028 given the first dose.

Containment zones as on date total 6,912 in Delhi.

The Health Department said that all figures are tentative, subject to change on receipt of additional information.
