Delhi records 21,259 new coronavirus cases, 23 more deaths

New Delhi, Jan 11 (MNN) Delhi on Tuesday reported 21,259 new coronavirus cases and 23 more deaths in the last 24-hour cycle, the Health Department said.

A total of 82,884 more tests were done during the period, with a Positivity Rate of 25.65.

The recovered, discharged, migrated or duplicate cases increased by 12,161 to 14,90,074.

Active cases now total 74,881 in Delhi which has reported 25,200 deaths due to the virus so far with a Case Fatality Rate of 1.58.

Cumulatively, 15,90,155 positive cases have been reported in the national capital, with a Cumulative Positivity Rate of 4.73.

In Dedicated COVID Hospitals, of the 14,621 beds, 2,209 (15.11 per cent) are occupied and 12,412 (84.89 per cent) vacant. In Dedicated COVID Care Centres, of the 4,626 beds, 627 (13.55 per cent) are occupied and 3,999 (86.45 per cent) vacant. In Dedicated COVID Health Centres, of the 158 beds, 38 (24.05 per cent) are occupied and 120 (75.95 per cent) vacant.

Home isolation patients number 50,796 in the national capital.

As many as 2,209 patients are admitted in hospitals, including 48 suspected cases.
Of the 2,161 confirmed Covid patients admitted in hospitals, 523 are in ICU, 568 are on oxygen support (including ventilators), 84 on ventilators.

A total of 1,908 patients are from Delhi and 253 from outside.

The RT-PCR/CBNAAT/TrueNat tests conducted in the last 24 hours total 61,060, including 21824 Rapid Antigen Tests.

So far 3,36,43,306 tests have been done, which comes to 17,70,700 tests per million.

Beneficiaries vaccinated in the last 24 hours total 1,97,617, including 1,12,940 given the first dose and 65,819 the second dose.

Beneficiaries vaccinated with precaution dose in the last 24 hours total 18,858.

Children in 15-17 age group vaccinated during the period add up to 51,894, with 3,02,978 persons in this age group vaccinated so far in the city.

A total of 2,77,19,689 doses have been given in the metropolis so far, including 1,60,14,047 given the first dose and 1,16,86,784 the second dose.

Cumulative beneficiaries vaccinated with precaution dose so far number 18,858.
Containment zones as on date total 17,269 in Delhi.

The Health Department said that all figures are tentative, subject to change on receipt of additional information.
