Delhi records 28,867 new coronavirus cases, 31 more deaths

New Delhi, Jan 13 (MNN) Delhi on Thursday reported 28,867 new coronavirus cases in the last 24-hour cycle and 31 more deaths due to the virus, the Health Department said.

A total of 98,832 more tests were done in the period, with a Positivity Rate of 29.21.

The recovered, discharged, migrated or duplicate cases increased by 22,121 to 15,27,152.

Active cases now total 94,160 in Delhi, which has reported 25,271 deaths so far due to the virus with a Case Fatality Rate of 1.53.

Cumulative positive cases reported so far in the city total 16,46,583, with a Cumulative Positivity Rate of 4.86.

In Dedicated COVID Hospitals, of the 15,433 beds, 2,424 or 15.71 per cent are occupied and 13,009 (84.29%) vacant.

In Dedicated COVID Care Centres, 559 (12.08%) of the 4,626 beds are occupied and 4,067 (87.92%) vacant.

In Dedicated COVID Health Centres, of the 158 beds, 41 (25.95%) are occupied and 117 (74.05%) vacant.

Patients admitted in hospitals total 2,424, including 55 suspect cases.
Of the 2,369 confirmed positive cases in hospitals, 628 are in ICU, 768 are on oxygen support, including 98 patients on ventilator.

A total of 2,080 admitted positive patients are from Delhi and 289 from outside.
The RT-PCR/CBNAAT/TrueNat tests conducted in the last 24 hours total 80,417, with 18,415 Rapid Antigen Tests.

So far 3,38,47,240 tests have been done in Delhi, which comes to 17,81,433 tests per million. Home isolation patients total 62,324.

A total of 1,63,851 beneficiaries vaccinated in the last 24 hours, including 94,838 given the first dose and 45,322 the second dose.

Beneficiaries vaccinated with precaution dose in the last 24 hours total 23,691, taking the total to 65,128.

As many as 50,048 beneficiaries in 15-17 age group were also vaccinated, taking the total to 4,02,345 in this category.

So far, 2,80,71,935 doses have been given, including 1,62,13,267 beneficiaries given the 1st dose and 1,17,93,540 the second dose.

Containment zones as on date total 23,997 in Delhi.

The department said that all figures are tentative, subject to change on receipt of additional information.
