New Delhi, Jan 14 (MNN) India on Friday reported 2,64,202 new coronavirus cases even as 315 more deaths due to the virus were reported in the last 24-hour cycle, the Health Ministry data showed.

The active cases increased by 1,54,542 to 12,72,073 or 3.48 per cent of the total 3,65,82,129 cases reported so far in India.

The discharged cases increased by 1,09,345 to 3,48,24,706 which are 95.20 per cent of the total tally.

A total of 4,85,350 deaths due to the virus have been reported officially, which is 1.33 per cent of the total positive cases.

The Daily Positivity rate is 14.78 whereas Weekly Positivity Rate is 11.83.

The government said 5,753 Omicron strain cases have been detected in India so far, an increase of 4.83 per cent since Thursday.

In the last 24 hours, 17,87,457 more tests were conducted, taking the total to 69,90,99,084.

As many as 73,08,669 more vaccine doses were administered till Friday morning, taking the total vaccinations till date to 1,55,39,81,819.

A total of 1,57,50,62,435 vaccine doses have been provided to states and UTs so far through goverment of India’s (free of cost channel) and through direct state procurement category.

A total of 15,17,25,871 doses remain unutilised with the states and UTs.
